Sejak itu PT Department Store dikenal denga nama Sarinah, nama yang disematkan Presiden Soekarno sebagai bentuk penghormatan kepada sesosok figur yang sangat berpengaruh dalam hidupnya. Pada 10 April 1979, Sarinah secara resmi berganti nama menjadi PT.Sarinah (Persero).
